About Me
Novia Hoyte started out as a Mathematics/Criminal Justice major
with plans to attend a top law school and become a prosecutor.
As required coursework, Novia took several coding courses
including C++, Java, and MySQL. These courses planted the seed
of interest that set Novia onto an alternate path. Upon
finishing her B.S. in Mathematics and B.A. in Criminal Jutice in
2015, she decided to enroll in graduate school as an Information
Technology major, forgoeing her prior plans to attend law
school.
After completing her M.S. in Information Technology, Novia was
confident that she made the right choice! She is constantly
intrigued by the ever-changing flow of technology.
Fun Fact: Novia loves music,
Thriller/Mystery novels, and the color pink!

This Dictionary App is designed to return definitions, synonyms and images of the word inputted by users. This app was built using React and integrates with the Free Dictionary API and SheCodes Images API.

AI Poem Generator

This AI Poem Generator App utilizes artificial intelligence to construct a 5-7 line poem about a topic inputted by the user. This app was built with React and integrates with the SheCodes AI API. This app also utilizes a typewriter JS Plugin to display the poem using a typewriter effect.

World Clock

This app displays the current time and date for 4 major cities in the world using Moment.js. It also allows you to choose another city from the drop-down box to display the time and date. After selecting a city, you can click the 'back to all cities' link to return to the "all cities" view.
